Canon MC-20 Maintenance Cartridge

The Canon MC-20 is a genuine maintenance cartridge built for the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 printer. It collects waste ink during cleaning cycles and normal printing to keep the internal mechanism clean. The cartridge is supplied new and matches part number 0628C002 exactly. It is a direct replacement for the unit shipped with the printer.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This cartridge suits owners of the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 who need a replacement when the printer signals the maintenance tank is full. It is not for users of any other Canon or non-Canon printer model. Buyers who need ink tanks or print-head cleaning kits should look at those specific consumables instead.

Installation ease and common pitfalls

The cartridge is user-replaceable and requires no tools or professional service. The printer displays an alert when replacement is needed, so you can swap it at the right moment. A common mistake is delaying the change after the warning, which can halt printing. Another is forcing the latch if the old cartridge is not fully released.

Questions about this item

Which printer model must I already own for the MC-20 maintenance cartridge to fit?

The cartridge is made for the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 and will not install in any other printer.

If I keep an older PRO-1000 that has already used its original maintenance cartridge, will this replacement work the same way?

Yes, it replaces the original MC-20 cartridge directly and the printer will recognise it normally.

How will I know the new MC-20 cartridge is seated and functioning after I install it?

The printer displays a replacement alert when the old cartridge is full; after installing the new one the alert clears and normal printing resumes.
