Canon EF-EOS R 0.71x Adapter for EOS C70

The Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x connects Canon EF lenses to RF-mount bodies, designed specifically for the EOS C70 Cinema Camera. It expands the angle of view by 0.71x when using full-frame lenses on the Super 35 sensor. The adapter increases maximum aperture by one stop for improved brightness. Electronic contacts maintain Dual Pixel Autofocus and lens-camera data communication.

Filmmakers using EF lenses on an EOS C70

This bundle suits cinematographers who own Canon EF glass and want wider fields of view plus faster apertures on the EOS C70. The included shoulder bag, cap keeper and cleaning kit support daily location work. Shooters without EF-mount lenses or those using cameras other than the EOS C70 will not benefit from this specific adapter.

0.71x focal reducer for Super 35 format

The 0.71x conversion factor is the single specification that determines whether this adapter matches your optical needs. It defines the exact change in field of view and aperture gain when pairing full-frame EF lenses with the C70's Super 35 sensor. Without this specific multiplier the adapter cannot deliver the intended wide-angle and low-light advantages.

Questions about this item

What does the 0.71x adapter do to the field of view on a Super 35 sensor?

The 0.71x adapter expands the angle of view so a full-frame EF lens covers the Super 35 sensor wider, effectively matching the lens’s native framing.

What physical mounting hardware is included to secure the adapter to the camera?

A locking mount collar and four screws are supplied to fix the adapter firmly to the RF-mount body.

How is the adapter attached, and what step is often missed during installation?

Align the red dots, twist the adapter onto the RF mount until it clicks, then tighten the four screws on the locking collar — skipping the screws leaves the connection loose.
