Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z White camera lens

Hybrid telephoto zoom for mirrorless

The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z is an internally zooming and focusing telephoto zoom built for Canon mirrorless cameras. It maintains a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across the 70-200mm range and features an iris ring for manual aperture control. Nano USM motors drive two floating focus units for fast, quiet autofocus suitable for both stills and video. Weather-resistant L-Series construction ensures reliability in harsh environments.

Suited for event, wedding and video work

Photographers needing a constant f/2.8 aperture through the full zoom range for low-light events, weddings, photojournalism and portraiture will benefit from the internal zoom design that keeps the lens length fixed. Videographers gain focus breathing control and compatibility with Power Zoom Adapters PZ-E2 and PZ-E2B for remote zoom operation. Buyers who need a more compact or lightweight prime lens, or those requiring focal lengths wider than 70mm without an additional lens, should consider other options.

Consistent aperture and extended reach under load

The constant f/2.8 aperture allows sustained exposure settings while zooming to 200mm without swapping lenses. Compatibility with RF 1.4x and RF 2.0x Extenders extends the effective reach to 280mm and 400mm respectively while retaining optical performance. Internal zoom and focus mechanisms prevent balance shifts during extended handheld or gimbal-mounted shooting sessions. The durable, weather-sealed barrel maintains operation in adverse conditions over long periods.
