Action game with new characters

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is a stylish action game for PC that adds Vergil, Trish and Lady as playable characters alongside the original cast. The Special Edition also introduces Legendary Dark Knight Mode, which fills the screen with larger enemy hordes for more intense combat encounters. It requires a Steam account for activation and runs on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

Digital delivery via Steam code

This downloadable version arrives as an online game code that you redeem on Steam, so there is no physical disc to store or ship. The Steam DRM handles installation, updates and cloud saves automatically once the code is activated. Regional restrictions block activation in several countries including China, Japan, Russia and Ukraine, so buyers must confirm eligibility before purchase.

27 GB install with modest specs

The game occupies 27 GB of storage space and targets 1080p visuals at 60 frames per second. Minimum requirements call for a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or 2.8 GHz AMD Athlon X2 processor, 2 GB of RAM and a graphics card such as the GeForce 8800 GTS or Radeon HD 3850 with 512 MB of video memory. DirectX 10 and a DirectSound compatible sound card are also required.

Questions about this item

Does the Steam DRM require a constant internet connection after activation?

Steam must be online for the first activation, then the game can run in offline mode once the licence is cached.

How much free drive space does the 27 GB install actually need on Windows 7 or 8.1?

Reserve at least 27 GB on the target drive; the installer will not proceed if the volume reports less free space.

Which step in the Steam activation flow do buyers most often miss?

After redeeming the code, you must open the Library entry and press Install — the game does not download automatically.
