Solid 18 AWG riser cable
This 18 AWG solid conductor cable is built for fire alarm and audio installations that require a riser rating. The red PVC jacket and aluminium foil shield protect the two conductors over the full 1000 ft length. It meets NEC articles 725 CL3R, 760 FPLR and 800 CMR for in-wall use.
18 AWG solid conductors
The single specification that decides fit is the 18 AWG solid conductor size, which determines voltage drop and termination method for the circuit. With a 0.2 in outside diameter the cable pulls easily through conduit while the Flexfoil shield maintains signal integrity on alarm loops.
Sustained 300 V operation
Under continuous load the PVC insulation and jacket retain their electrical properties at the rated 300 V maximum without the degradation seen in short burst tests. The solid conductors and foil shield resist fatigue during long term installation tension and thermal cycling.

Questions about this item
What does the 18 AWG solid conductor mean for voltage drop in a real alarm run?
18 AWG solid conductors keep resistance low on long pulls, so a 300 V rated fire alarm circuit stays within code limits over the full 1000 ft length.
How do the NEC 725 CL3R, 760 FPLR and 800 CMR listings cap where this cable can be installed?
The triple listing lets you run it in riser shafts for power-limited, fire-protective and communications circuits without needing separate cable types.
What does the 0.2 in outside diameter and pulling pack require for conduit fill and mounting?
At 0.2 in OD the cable fits easily in standard conduit, and the pulling pack feeds straight from the box so no reel or special mounts are needed.
