Handwoven Water Hyacinth Baskets

This set includes two large oval bins handwoven from natural water hyacinth with wooden handles on each side. They suit homeowners who want sustainable storage that adds texture to kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms or living areas. The neutral finish works with farmhouse, coastal or boho décor. Buyers needing airtight containers or stackable modular systems should look elsewhere.

Dimensions and Indoor Use

Each basket measures 17-1/2 inches side to side, 13 inches front to back and 6-3/4 inches high. Slight variation in size and colour occurs because every piece is handmade. The natural fibre is intended for indoor use only and should be kept dry. Cleaning requires a gentle dusting with a soft cloth or duster.

Upgrade from Plastic Bins

These baskets replace flimsy plastic tubs that crack or look utilitarian on open shelves. The woven construction is sturdier for daily handling and the wooden handles make pulling them from shelves easier. The jump is worth it when storage stays visible and you want a cohesive, warm aesthetic throughout the room.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Casafield STO-S1217-NAT baskets and what step do people often get wrong?

Place the baskets directly on the shelf with the wooden handles facing outward for easy grip; the common mistake is forcing them into spaces narrower than 17-1/2" side-to-side, which can damage the handwoven water hyacinth weave.

What maintenance or replacement will the Casafield STO-S1217-NAT baskets need later?

Gently dust with a soft cloth or duster as needed; the natural water hyacinth may fade or become brittle over time with prolonged indoor use, eventually requiring replacement of the basket itself.

What limit shows up first under sustained use for the Casafield STO-S1217-NAT baskets?

The handwoven water hyacinth fibers can loosen or fray at stress points around the wooden handles and corners when repeatedly loaded or moved, especially if contents shift against the woven sides.
