Ultra-compact 61-key portable keyboard
The Casio LK-S250 is a lightweight 61-key instrument designed for beginners and casual players who want to practise anywhere. Its built-in handle and battery operation make it easy to move between rooms or take to lessons without extra gear. The key lighting system guides finger placement while the Chordana Play app adds interactive tuition.
Power and connectivity limits
The keyboard runs on six AA batteries or the included AC adapter, so mains power is not mandatory for short sessions. USB-MIDI provides a single digital link to a phone, tablet or computer for the companion app and basic recording. No traditional five-pin MIDI ports, Bluetooth or audio inputs are present, limiting direct connection to older sound modules or wireless devices.
Simple setup with common pitfalls
Unboxing is straightforward: attach the music rest, plug in the adapter or insert batteries, then connect USB for the app if desired. The most frequent issues are using rechargeable AA cells that drop voltage too low for reliable operation and forgetting to select the USB-MIDI function in the app settings, which prevents the key lights from syncing with lessons.
