Portable direct-thermal label printer

The CASIO N12 is a pocket-sized desktop printer that uses direct thermal technology to produce black-only labels without ink or toner. It connects to iOS and Android devices via Bluetooth and prints at 203 DPI on media widths of 0.55in and 0.59in. The unit weighs 0.25lb and measures 14.33in by 12.83in by 9.06in.

NADA Print app templates and fixed-length tapes

The companion NADA Print app supplies templates for text, QR codes, barcodes, images, timestamps and decorative borders. Label length is fixed to specific sizes including 12x40mm, 14x40mm, 14x50mm and 14x75mm, and continuous tapes are not supported. The built-in rewind cutter trims each label after printing.

Bluetooth pairing and legacy PC requirements

Bluetooth pairing requires Android 9.0 or iOS 16 and above; older mobile operating systems cannot connect. For PC use the only wired interface is USB, and the listed Windows compatibility stops at XP with no mention of later versions. The printer is designed for monochrome output only.

Questions about this item

How often will I need to replace the thermal tape rolls on the N12?

The N12 uses direct thermal tape rolls in widths of .55 or .59 inches and lengths of 12, 14, 16, 40, 50 or 75 mm. Replace a roll when the printed labels run out.

What limits continuous printing on the N12 before I must pause?

The rechargeable battery powers the N12 for portable use; sustained printing will drain it and require recharging via the USB interface.

How much noise and heat does the N12 produce during all-day use?

The inkless direct thermal mechanism runs quietly with minimal heat, and the 0.25 lb chassis stays cool during extended label printing sessions.
