What it is

The CASIO RW403B is a direct-thermal barcode and label printer built for small-business shipping workflows. It produces 4 x 6 inch labels without ink, using a rewind cutter and a print width adjustable from 1.57 to 4.25 inches. Bluetooth and USB interfaces connect to Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Chromebook devices.

Who it suits

This unit fits operations that need high-volume, monochrome shipping labels with minimal misalignment, thanks to a 4-inch DAC chip that auto-calibrates for 99.8 percent accuracy. It is not for users who require colour output, ribbon-based printing or media wider than 4.25 inches, nor for environments that need a network or Wi-Fi connection.

Installing and pitfalls

Driver-free pairing with major carriers and platforms such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, Amazon, Shopify, Etsy and eBay makes initial setup quick. The Bluetooth indicator illuminates only during data transfer; a steady off light confirms a stable link. The 970,000-label durability rating and sub-0.01 percent jam rate reduce long-term maintenance, while 60 dB operation keeps noise low in shared spaces.

Questions about this item

What device with Bluetooth do I need to send print jobs to the RW403B?

A smartphone running Android or iOS, or a computer with Windows, Mac or ChromeOS that supports Bluetooth pairing.

Will the USB port on the RW403B let me keep printing from my older Windows 98 or XP machine?

Yes — the printer lists Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP as compatible, so a legacy PC can connect via USB.

How can I confirm the RW403B is calibrated and ready after I pair it?

The Bluetooth indicator lights only during data transfer; once it turns off the connection is stable and the DAC auto-calibration has aligned labels to within 0.1 mm.
