Portable label printer for small spaces

The CASIO T003 is a 349g direct-thermal label printer that supports label widths from .8 to 3.15 inches and comes with a starter roll of 230 adhesive labels measuring 1.97 by 1.18 inches. It connects via Bluetooth to iOS or Android devices using the 4Barcode app, or by USB to Windows, Mac OS, Chrome OS and Linux computers. An integrated LED screen shows battery level, Bluetooth status and print progress, and lets you choose label types, sleep timers and automatic shutdown.

Replaces ink-based desktop label makers

Direct thermal printing removes the need for ink, toner or ribbons, so there are no consumables beyond the thermal paper itself. The jump from a sheet-fed inkjet or laser label setup is worth it when you print short runs of shipping, barcode or organisation labels and want zero drying time, no smudging and a footprint of 14.33 by 12.83 by 9.06 inches that fits on a crowded desk or countertop. The built-in rewind cutter delivers finished labels without a separate trimming step.

Suits mobile-first sellers.

Teachers, crafters and small-business owners who label from a phone or laptop will appreciate the wireless workflow and broad OS support. Buyers who need higher-volume throughput, wider-than-3.15-inch media, or networked multi-user printing should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What label roll width fits the 3.15 in maximum print width?

The printer accepts rolls from .8 in up to 3.15 in wide, matching the 20 mm to 80 mm range stated for the T003.

Which step do users skip when connecting the T003 to a Windows PC over USB?

Install the supplied driver before plugging in the cable; the printer will not enumerate correctly if the driver is added after the first connection.

What consumable replaces the 230-label starter roll when it runs out?

Any direct-thermal label roll or continuous paper between .8 in and 3.15 in wide works; the T003 uses no ink, toner or ribbon.
