Celestron 18mm X-Cel LX 1.25" Eyepiece #93425

18mm X-Cel LX 1.25" Eyepiece

This 18mm eyepiece is designed for astronomers who want a 60-degree apparent field of view for planetary and deep-sky observation. It fits any telescope that accepts 1.25-inch accessories and suits observers who value parfocal convenience when swapping eyepieces. The six-element, fully multi-coated optics deliver crisp, high-contrast images of the Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky objects.

Twist-up eye guard and parfocal design

Installation is as simple as sliding the 1.25-inch barrel into the focuser and tightening the thumbscrew; no tools are required. The twist-up eye guard adjusts quickly for comfortable viewing with or without glasses. Parfocal performance means minimal refocusing when changing between X-Cel LX eyepieces, so a quick swap keeps the target sharp. The only common issue is forgetting to remove the protective caps before the first use.

60-degree field and 18mm focal length

The 18mm focal length provides mid-range magnification that works well for lunar detail, planetary discs and larger star clusters. The 60-degree apparent field gives an immersive view without the edge distortion found in narrower designs. Light transmission remains high thanks to the fully multi-coated six-element set. Observers needing very low power for vast nebulae or very high power for tiny planetary features will need different focal lengths.
