Celestron Motor Drive for AstroMaster/PowerSeeker EQ Telescopes 93514
A single-axis R.A. motor drive that tracks sky motion on AstroMaster and PowerSeeker EQ telescopes, powered by two 9-volt batteries for up to 40 hours with an adjustable speed regulator
- Tracks the sky automatically once polar aligned
- Single-axis R.A. motor drive for equatorial mounts
- Runs on two 9 V alkaline batteries
- Up to 40 hours of continuous operation
- Speed-rate regulator lets you fine-tune tracking speed
Celestron Motor Drive 93514
This single-axis DC motor drive attaches to AstroMaster and PowerSeeker equatorial mounts. Once the telescope is polar aligned the unit tracks the sky's motion automatically. It is intended for visual observers who want hands-free tracking during long sessions.
Battery operation and runtime
The drive runs on two 9-volt alkaline batteries that supply up to 40 hours of continuous use. A built-in speed-rate regulator lets you fine-tune the tracking speed slightly faster or slower. No external power supply or AC adapter is included or required.
Single-axis tracking scope
The motor drives only the right-ascension axis, so it compensates for Earth's rotation but cannot automate declination movement. It suits lunar, planetary and deep-sky viewing where manual declination adjustments are acceptable. Users needing full GoTo slewing or dual-axis autoguiding will require a different system.

Questions about this item
Which motor drive version suits my AstroMaster or PowerSeeker EQ telescope?
The CSN93514 is a single-axis R.A. drive designed for Celestron AstroMaster and PowerSeeker equatorial mounts.
What does the 40-hour battery life mean for a night of observing?
Two 9-volt alkaline batteries power the DC motor for up to 40 hours, enough for several full evenings of sidereal tracking.
How does the speed-rate regulator affect tracking accuracy?
The regulator lets you nudge the motor slightly faster or slower than sidereal rate to compensate for polar-alignment errors.
