This Centenex Electronics CBNIKONEP-5 DC coupler replaces the Nikon EP-5 and fits the D3000, D40, D40X, D5000 and D60. It sits in the battery compartment and provides a DC port for the EH-5 AC adapter. The unit is new and 100 per cent OEM compatible.

Power Supply Headroom

The coupler delivers continuous mains power to the camera during long studio sessions, video recording or tethered shooting. It removes the need to swap batteries but only works when an EH-5 AC adapter is connected. Without that adapter the camera has no power source.

Build and Daily Use

The compact body measures 35.6 by 55.8 by 14.25 millimetres and slides into the battery slot like a standard pack. A single cable runs from the DC port to the adapter, leaving the memory card door accessible. The moulded housing aligns with the camera contacts for a secure fit.
