Sony Handycam AV Cable 1.5 m
This 1.5 metre AV cable connects compatible Sony Handycam camcorders to a television or capture device using S-Video and RCA plugs. It replaces the Sony VMC-15FS lead and fits the 10-pin multi-connector found on many MiniDV and DVD models. The cable is supplied new in black.
10-pin multi-connector fit
The single specification that decides compatibility is the 10-pin proprietary jack used on the listed Sony DCR and HDR models. If the camcorder has a different connector — such as the later 5-pin or USB-only ports — this cable will not attach. Check the camcorder’s port before ordering.
Steady signal over the full length
The moulded strain relief and shielded conductors maintain a clean composite and S-Video signal across the 1.5 metre run without the drop-outs that cheaper leads show when bent. The fixed length avoids the signal loss that occurs with daisy-chained extensions during long capture sessions.

Questions about this item
What does the 10-pin connector on this CBSONY10PIN_VMC15FS cable connect to on my Sony camcorder?
The 10-pin plug inserts into the dedicated A/V output port found on compatible Sony Handycam models such as the DCR-HC20, DCR-HC42, DCR-DVD101 and HDR-CX100.
Which video and audio signals does the VMC-15FS interface carry through its S-Video and RCA ends?
The cable splits the 10-pin signal into an S-Video jack for luminance and chrominance plus red and white RCA plugs for stereo audio.
How much clearance do I need behind the camcorder for the 1.5 m black cable to route without strain?
At 1.5 metres long the cable reaches from the camcorder's side-mounted 10-pin port to a nearby TV or capture device with enough slack for gentle bends.
