Steam-cook storage cartons

ChefVentions 387799 cartons are made of heat-resistant silicone and arrive in a pack of ten. Each carton measures 9 x 2.3 x 2.9 inches and uses a zipper seal for microwave steaming. They suit cooks who want single-use bags for vegetables, seafood or poultry.

Sustained microwave performance

The heat-resistant resin tolerates repeated steam cycles during one cooking session without melting or leaking. Bags are vented by opening the zipper one inch before microwaving. After the meal is cooked the carton is discarded, so there is no long-term reuse stress.

Single-use hygiene constraint

The manufacturer advises against washing and reusing the cartons to prevent cross-contamination. Buyers who need reusable silicone pouches for multiple meals should choose a different product line.

Questions about this item

Will the 10 silicone bags stay cool enough to handle straight after a full day of microwave steaming?

The bags are made from heat-resistant silicone that tolerates microwave temperatures, but they will be hot after cooking; use oven mitts or let them rest a minute before handling.

Do I need a specific microwave wattage or turntable size for the 9x2.3x2.9 inch cartons to steam properly?

Any standard microwave with a turntable large enough to rotate the 9-inch-long bags will work; vent one inch of the zipper before heating.

Can I keep using my older plastic storage boxes alongside these 387799 silicone cartons without flavour transfer?

Yes, the BPA-free silicone does not absorb odours, so it will not pass flavours to or from your existing plastic containers.
