Connected Clamshell Design

The ChefVentions SoftShell SS-Rasp Large Red container uses a connected clamshell design that keeps the lid permanently attached. A secure slide-lock snaps closed to help resist spills and holds thicker condiments such as ketchup and ranch. The container is leak-resistant rather than leak-proof or airtight. It is made from FDA-grade silicone panels and a polypropylene frame that stays cool when microwaved.

Replaces Disposable Bags

This reusable silicone container replaces single-use plastic sandwich bags for school lunches, work meals and travel snacks. The jump is worth it when you want an eco-friendly alternative that is free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead. Only the food-safe silicone panels contact your food, and the whole unit is microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe for daily convenience.

Check Freezer Suitability

Before ordering, verify that a non-freezer-safe container matches your storage needs, as the specifications list freezer safe as No. Ensure the large size fits your meal-prep portions and that the leak-resistant seal is sufficient for the liquids you plan to carry. The silicone panels are removable for occasional deep cleaning and can be pressed back into the frame if they separate.

Questions about this item

Does the clamshell frame require extra cabinet clearance when the lid is fully open?

The lid stays permanently attached by a hinge, so it swings open flat like a plate and needs no additional vertical space beyond the container's own height.

How do I reinstall a silicone panel that has popped out of the frame?

Press the panel back into the polypropylene frame starting from the outer corners and working inward until it sits flush; the slide-lock will then close smoothly.

When should I remove the silicone panels for a deep clean instead of using the dishwasher?

Remove the panels only for occasional deep cleaning; daily washing is done by placing the whole assembled container in the dishwasher.
