Installation notes

Plug the male end into the host and attach a separate USB-C 3.2 male-to-male cable (not included) between the female socket and the peripheral. The aluminium shell resists bending, but the 3 m length can pick up signal loss if the extra cable is also long. Full 20 Gbps speed only appears when both ends connect to USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB4 or Thunderbolt ports.

Interface limits

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard caps throughput at 20 Gbps and power at 240 W, so longer runs or daisy-chained hubs will drop to lower speeds. Video output requires the host to implement DisplayPort Alternate Mode; phones or tablets without that feature will not drive a monitor through this cable. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts work, but the cable itself is not a Thunderbolt-certified active cable.
