Wired USB keyboard with 104 keys

The Cherry JK-8500EU-2 is a standard wired keyboard that connects via USB. It uses a scissor mechanism for quiet keystrokes and a low profile. The black unit includes 104 normal keys plus six function keys. It is built for home offices or workplaces that need a reliable, cable-connected input device.

Practical limits of the USB interface

A wired USB connection draws power from the host and requires a free Type-A port. Cable length restricts placement compared with wireless alternatives. No battery charging or pairing steps are needed, but the physical tether limits mobility across a large desk or living-room setup.

Scissor mechanism decides typing feel

The CHERRY SX scissor mechanism gives a short travel and quiet click that suits shared spaces. Buyers who want a mechanical switch feel with distinct tactile feedback or audible click will not get it here. The flat key profile and silent operation define whether this board matches the user's preference.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 104-key layout or the smaller version with fewer keys?

The JK-8500EU-2 is offered only in the 104-key standard layout with six additional function keys, so no smaller version exists for this model.

How quiet are the keystrokes when the keyboard is used in a shared office?

The CHERRY SX scissor mechanism produces a whisper-quiet keystroke rated for low noise, making it suitable for open-plan or home-office environments.

Does the USB interface limit the polling rate or key rollover in practice?

The wired USB connection provides standard HID communication with no special polling-rate or rollover limits mentioned for this model.
