Training deterrent spray for pets

Chew + Heal No Chew Spray is an 8oz topical aid designed for owners who want to discourage dogs or cats from mouthing furniture, cords or bandages. The bitter formula creates an unpleasant taste that helps reduce destructive chewing habits. It is intended for indoor use on household surfaces. Results depend on the individual animal's taste sensitivity.

Limitations of taste-based deterrence

The product relies on a bitter flavour to interrupt the behaviour, so it cannot physically prevent access to an object. Effectiveness varies because some pets tolerate or ignore the taste, and the coating wears off with moisture or rubbing. Re-application is necessary after cleaning or heavy contact. The spray does not address underlying anxiety, boredom or medical causes of chewing.

Check surface compatibility and pet response

Test a hidden area of fabric, wood or plastic for colourfastness before full application. Apply a small amount and observe the pet's reaction to confirm the taste is aversive. Do not leave the animal unsupervised with the treated item until deterrence is verified. Ensure the spray is fully dry before allowing contact.
