Chicago-Latrobe 33-Piece Reduced Shank Bit Set

This 33-piece drill bit set from Chicago-Latrobe uses high-speed steel with a black oxide finish. The bits feature a 118-degree point angle and reduced shanks for compatibility with smaller chucks. Model 69858 provides a broad selection of diameters for general machining tasks.

Best For General Machining, Not Large Chucks

Suited for machinists and maintenance technicians who need a wide range of high-speed steel bits in one kit. The reduced shank design allows use in portable drills with limited chuck capacity. Buyers requiring bits for very large drill presses or specialised coating options should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What drill chuck capacity is required to use the 69858 reduced shank bits?

A chuck that opens to at least the reduced shank diameter of the 69858 set will accept every bit in the 33-piece case.

Can the 118-degree HSS bits in this 33-piece set be used in older drill presses that only take straight-shank tooling?

Yes — the reduced shank design lets each 118-degree high-speed-steel bit fit the straight-shank chucks on legacy drill presses.
