Purpose and audience

The Chicago Metallic 40920 Display Pan is a copper coloured anodised aluminium tray sized at 9x26. It suits commercial kitchens and catering displays that need a rigid, lightweight serving surface for cold or room temperature items.

Build integration

The pan measures 25 1/2 in long by 8 3/4 in wide with a 1 in depth and 16 ga thickness. Its flat profile stacks neatly on prep tables or buffet lines and the anodised finish resists surface scratches during frequent handling. It is not dishwasher safe, not freezer safe and not oven safe so cleaning must be manual and usage stays strictly non thermal.

Thermals noise and power

The aluminium body conducts ambient temperature quickly but has no heating element or cooling system so it draws no power and produces no noise. In normal service it simply holds food at the surrounding temperature without adding heat or vibration to the workspace.

Questions about this item

How does the 16-gauge anodized aluminum hold up to daily commercial use?

The 16-gauge anodized aluminum construction provides a rigid structure that resists warping and denting during repeated handling in busy kitchen environments.

Does the copper finish affect heat retention when the pan sits on a heated display line?

The copper-coloured anodized surface is for visual presentation only and does not change the thermal properties of the underlying aluminium.

What supporting equipment is needed to keep food at safe temperatures in this pan?

Because the pan is not oven-safe or freezer-safe, a separate heated or refrigerated display unit is required to maintain food safety.
