1.2" Ceiling Mount Kit for Suspended Ceilings

The Chief CMA440-G is a 1.2" ceiling mount kit designed for suspended ceilings with a 50 lb maximum load capacity. It includes 10 ft safety cable, 20 ft strand wire, two outlet knockouts, four turnbuckles, wood eye bolts, concrete anchors and a chrome ring for complete installation.

Installers needing a TAA-compliant above-tile

This kit suits installers who need a TAA-compliant above-tile mounting kit for suspended ceilings and can work within the 50 lb limit. It is not for projects requiring higher load ratings, different ceiling types or a lower-profile height than 1.2".

Pre-assembled hardware reduces setup time

Pre-assembled turnbuckles, eye bolts and anchors let technicians secure the mount to wood or concrete structures quickly. The most common issue is ensuring the safety cable and strand wire are tensioned correctly to meet the 50 lb rating.

Questions about this item

What ceiling structure do I need to attach the 1.2" Chief CMA440-G mount?

The kit includes wood eye bolts for joists and concrete anchors for masonry, so you need either exposed wooden beams or a solid concrete slab above the suspended ceiling tiles.

Can I keep my existing 20 ft suspension wires when installing this 50 lb ceiling mount?

Yes, the package supplies 20 ft of strand wire and 10 ft of safety cable, so you can replace or supplement any wires you already have in the plenum space.

How do I verify the CMA440-G is holding the rated 50 lb after installation?

Check that all four turnbuckles are tensioned, the safety cable is secured to the building structure, and the chrome ring sits flush against the tile with no visible deflection.
