Extension Column Length

The Chief Manufacturing CMS012W is a 12-inch fixed extension column designed to lower a projector to the required mounting height. It connects to any 1.5-inch NPT accessory using threads on both ends for a secure fit.

Replaces Shorter Fixed Columns

This column replaces a shorter fixed drop when the projector must be positioned further from the ceiling. The upgrade is justified when the installation demands the exact 12-inch drop length to achieve proper screen alignment.

Suits High-Capacity Ceiling Mounts

Installers mounting heavy projectors on structural ceilings will appreciate the 500-lb weight capacity and rigid aluminium construction. It is not intended for adjustable-height requirements or for systems using smaller NPT thread sizes.

Questions about this item

What thread size does the 12" column use to mount to a Chief 1.5" NPT accessory?

The column is threaded with 1.5" NPT on both ends, so it screws directly onto any Chief 1.5" NPT accessory without an adapter.

How do I lock the column into a Speed-Connect mount without leaving it loose?

Slide the column into the Speed-Connect receiver until the spring pin clicks into the groove, then give it a firm twist to confirm the pin is fully seated.

Will the aluminum column need repainting or corrosion protection over time?

The factory white finish on the aluminum resists corrosion under normal indoor use; no repainting or extra coating is required.
