STEM walkie-talkie kit for ages 8 to 14

The choopheme YY-954 kit lets children build two working walkie-talkies from component level using a single Phillips screwdriver. The set targets ages eight to fourteen and blends hands-on electronics assembly with everyday communication play. White plastic housing measures 2.4 by 3.96 by 1.3 inches once assembled.

Range limited to roughly 650 feet line of sight

Audio clarity drops beyond the stated 650-foot radius, especially through walls or dense foliage. The simple push-to-talk button and double-click call alert operate on a single fixed channel, so only one conversation can occur at a time. No volume control or privacy codes are provided.

Replaces ready-made toy radios that teach no

Children who only want instant talk time without building steps will find the assembly requirement frustrating. The kit suits families or classrooms that value the soldering-free construction experience as much as the finished radios.

Questions about this item

Is the YY-954 kit a single unit or a pair of walkie-talkies?

The kit contains parts to build two walkie-talkies so children can communicate with each other after assembly.

What does the 650-foot range mean for everyday play?

In open areas the signal reaches about 650 feet; walls and obstacles will reduce the usable distance.

How do the walkie-talkies connect and what limits the link?

They use a built-in radio transmitter on a licence-free frequency; range is limited to roughly 650 feet in clear conditions.
