Bluetooth laser scanner reads 1D codes at 4 mil from 2 to 42 cm with 20 m range and weighs 0.22 lbs
The CipherLab 1662 is a lightweight laser barcode scanner built for mobile data capture in healthcare, field sales and service roles. It weighs 0.22 lbs and measures 4.4 x 1.8 x 1.2 inches, so it fits in a pocket for all-day carry. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the device through a full shift. Bluetooth connectivity lets the operator move freely without a tethered cable.
This scanner reads 1D linear barcodes as small as 4 mil from 2 to 42 cm away, with a ±65 degree pitch angle for flexible aiming. Bluetooth Class 2 provides a line-of-sight range up to 20 m or 66 ft, ideal for staff roaming a ward, shop floor or warehouse aisle. It is not suited for users who must read 2D codes or capture high-density symbols below 4 mil. Buyers needing a wired-only device or a rugged housing rated for repeated drops should look at other form factors.
The visible laser diode at 650 nm resolves barcodes down to 4 mil width, which determines whether the scanner can read the specific labels used in your workflow. Operating current is 100 mA at 3.7 V, dropping to 20 mA in standby. A USB cable is included for charging and direct data transfer when Bluetooth is not required.

Pair the scanner via Bluetooth Class 2 (2.4 GHz) Version 2.1 +EDR to your host device, then scan the pairing barcode from the quick-start guide; the step often missed is confirming the virtual COM port mapping in your POS software so scanned data appears in the correct field.
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery will eventually hold less charge; replace it when a full cycle no longer lasts a full shift, and clean the laser exit window with a lint-free cloth if scan accuracy drops on 4 mil codes at 2 to 42 cm.
Continuous scanning draws 100 mA @3.7V, so the battery depletes before the 20 m / 66 ft Bluetooth range or the 20 mA @3.7V standby draw becomes the bottleneck.
