The CipherLab 2500 series is a handheld linear CCD scanner designed for point-of-sale counters, stockrooms and light industrial workflows. Its corded connection provides continuous power without battery management. The LED light source and 3 mil resolution read common 1D symbologies from Code 39 to GS1 DataBar. Regulatory marks cover FCC, IC, CE, RCM, BSMI and KC.

Plug-and-play USB with limited angle tolerance

Installation is a simple USB plug-in; the scanner draws 20 mA at standby and 255 mA while operating. The linear CCD engine requires the barcode to fall within a ±70 degree pitch and yaw window, so extreme tilt or rotation will cause missed reads. Low-contrast prints below 15 percent ratio may also fail. No driver configuration is needed on standard operating systems.

Fixed cable length and 1D-only decoding

The corded design ties the operator to the host terminal and limits reach to the cable length supplied. The scan field tops out at 60 cm for 20 mil Code 39 and 38 cm for 13 mil UPC-A, so very large or distant labels are out of range. Only one-dimensional barcodes are supported; 2D codes such as QR or Data Matrix cannot be read.
