Managed 48-port Gigabit switch with 4 SFP uplinks and 740 W PoE+ budget
The Meraki MS120-48FP-HW delivers 48 Gigabit RJ45 ports and four 1G SFP uplinks in a 1U rackmount chassis. It provides up to 740W of PoE+ power for access points, phones and cameras. Cloud-managed operation suits distributed IT teams that need central visibility without on-site controllers.
The switch joins the Meraki Dashboard automatically once powered and connected, so configuration begins before the unit is racked. A fixed internal supply accepts 100-240V AC at 47-63 Hz. The fanless design eliminates moving parts but requires adequate rack airflow to stay within the 0-45°C operating range.
The switching fabric supports up to 104 Gbps of non-blocking throughput, sustaining wire-speed forwarding across all ports during prolonged traffic. Power draw ranges from 8W idle to 908W at full PoE+ load, with 37W typical idle consumption. Jumbo frames up to 9578 bytes reduce per-packet overhead for storage or backup workloads.

Log into the Meraki Dashboard and verify the switch appears online with all 48 RJ45 ports and 4 SFP uplinks showing green link status, then check that PoE devices such as access points or cameras are receiving power within the 740W budget.
The unit ships with the 1U rack-mountable switch, a fixed internal power supply for 100-240V AC input, and mounting hardware; SFP transceivers for the four 1G uplink ports and Ethernet patch cables for the 48 RJ45 ports are not included.
The MS120-48FP-HW provides exactly 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports plus 4 1G SFP uplinks and a 740W PoE+ budget; other MS120 models offer fewer ports or lower PoE capacity, so select this SKU when the full 48-port count and high PoE budget are required.
