A 118-degree point Silver & Deming drill bit with a 1/2 reduced shank for large-hole drilling
The Cle-Line C20764 is a Silver & Deming drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal. Its reduced shank allows use in chucks with a 1/2 inch capacity while drilling larger holes. It suits maintenance technicians and fabricators needing a single bit for oversized holes.
The bit is manufactured from HAWA high-speed steel with a black oxide finish for wear resistance. The 118-degree point angle provides standard centring and cutting action. The 1/2 inch reduced shank fits standard drill chucks, enabling the 1 7/16 inch cutting diameter without requiring a larger chuck.
The 118-degree point angle performs well in mild steel and non-ferrous metals but may walk on hardened materials without a centre punch. The black oxide finish helps retain lubricant but is not a coating for high-heat production runs. Buyers needing split-point precision or cobalt alloy heat resistance should select a different bit geometry.

The bit has a 118-degree point angle, which is the standard geometry for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood and plastic.
The bit has a reduced 1/2 in shank, so it fits any drill chuck that accepts a 1/2 in shank diameter.
Insert the reduced 1/2 in shank fully into the chuck and tighten all three jaws evenly; the step often missed is not seating the shank completely before tightening.
