Black oxide drill bits in indexed metal case, 29 pieces fractional sizes 1/16 to 1/2 inch

Cle-Line

Cle-Line C21133 29PC 135 Degree Heavy-Duty Screw Machine Length Set

SKU CH-AV5Q-5CWDH

29-piece heavy-duty screw machine length drill bit set with 135-degree split points in high-speed steel and black oxide finish

  • Product typeDrill Bits
  • 29-piece set covers fractional sizes from 1/16 in to 1/2 in
  • 135-degree split point starts holes fast with less walking
  • High-speed steel construction resists wear in tough materials
  • Black oxide finish reduces friction and helps prevent corrosion
  • Screw-machine length gives extra rigidity for portable drilling

Cle-Line C21133 29PC Drill Bit Set

This Cle-Line set contains twenty-nine screw-machine-length drill bits made from high-speed steel with a black oxide finish. Every bit has a 135-degree split point for self-centring starts and reduced walking. The fractional-inch range covers 1/16 in through 1/2 in in 1/64-in increments.

Best for metalworkers needing short, rigid bits

Machinists and maintenance technicians who drill steel, cast iron or other hard alloys will value the stiff screw-machine length and 135-degree geometry. Woodworkers, plastics fabricators or anyone who primarily drills soft materials will not benefit from the harder point angle and should look at a different set.

135-degree split point decides suitability

The 135-degree split point is the single specification that determines whether this set matches the application. It is optimised for hard-metal drilling; softer-work jobs need a different point angle.

Questions about this item

What chuck size do I need to hold the 1/2 in bit from the Cle-Line C21133 set?

A chuck that opens to at least 1/2 in will hold the largest bit in the set.

Can the 135 degree split-point bits drill into hardened steel that my older cobalt bits struggled with?

The high-speed steel bits with 135 degree split points are designed for heavy-duty screw machine work in tough materials.

How do I verify the split-point geometry is cutting correctly on the 3/16 in bit?

The bit should start on contact without wandering and produce short, curled chips in steel.
