14 Mil Clear Tarp for Outdoor Use

This 14 mil transparent PVC vinyl tarp measures 3 by 6 feet and provides waterproof protection while allowing sunlight to pass through. It is built for patios, porches, greenhouses, and camping where visibility and weather resistance are both required. Reinforced edges with sewn-in poly rope and aluminium grommets spaced roughly every 23 inches add tear resistance and secure tie-down points.

Suits Coverage Needs Not Heavy Loads

The sheeting works well for seasonal enclosures, outdoor curtains, and temporary shelters that need light transmission and water runoff. It is not suited for structural roofing, load-bearing applications, or situations requiring fire-retardant rated materials. Buyers who need opaque blackout coverage or industrial-grade abrasion resistance should look at a different product class.

Handles Cold Down to Minus 41 Fahrenheit

The vinyl remains flexible and waterproof in temperatures down to minus 41 Fahrenheit, giving reliable performance through winter conditions. The 12 by 14 mil construction handles rain, snow, wind, and dust without blocking light. Extended UV exposure or sharp-object abrasion will eventually degrade the material, so plan for periodic replacement in permanent installations.

Questions about this item

What structure or frame does the 14 mil clear tarp need to attach to for it to work?

The tarp requires a frame, poles, or anchor points such as a patio, porch, pergola, or greenhouse structure to tie the reinforced grommets to with ropes or bungee cords.

How does the 14 mil PVC vinyl tarp perform when used alongside an existing metal or wood frame from an older enclosure?

The reinforced poly rope hem and rustproof aluminum grommets every 23 inches secure the tarp to existing frames without damaging them, and the material resists tearing in wind.

How can I verify the 14 mil clear tarp is working as intended after I install it?

Check that sunlight passes through the transparent vinyl, rain and wind are blocked, the grommets hold tension without tearing, and the cover remains intact in temperatures down to -41°F.
