Purpose and users

The ClearOne SP-2000 is a USB and Bluetooth speakerphone built for conference calls and meetings. It suits home offices, shared workspaces and travel with a rechargeable battery and visual light guidance. A 360-degree noise-cancelling microphone picks up voices within a 3 metre range. Full-duplex audio lets participants speak simultaneously without dropouts.

Upgrade context

It replaces basic laptop speakers and single-direction microphones that struggle with group conversations. The jump is worthwhile when meetings need room-filling sound, reliable far-field pickup and the flexibility to switch instantly between a computer and a smartphone. Buyers who only need stereo output for solo listening will not benefit from the conference-grade microphone array.

Interface limits

USB-C provides digital audio and charging from a single cable, while Bluetooth extends wireless range to 66 feet for mobile pairing. A dedicated source button toggles between the two connections and enters pairing mode on a long press. Call control buttons handle answer, end and reject functions only while the Bluetooth link is active. The unit has no analogue inputs, so it cannot connect to legacy desk phones or audio mixers.

Questions about this item

Does the SP-2000 require a separate power adapter to operate?

No, it powers and charges through the USB-C port connected to a computer, and its rechargeable battery allows wireless use over Bluetooth for extended periods.

What is the correct way to pair a smartphone via Bluetooth?

Press and hold the Source button until the speakerphone enters pairing mode, then select it from the phone's Bluetooth menu; a short press only toggles between USB and Bluetooth sources.

How long does the internal battery last before it needs recharging?

The built-in rechargeable battery is designed to last through a full day of calls and meetings, and recharges automatically whenever the USB-C cable is connected to a powered host.
