High-speed steel chucking reamer with a straight fractional 1.25 inch diameter for precision hole finishing
The Cleveland C27166 is a straight-flute chucking reamer made from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish. It is sized at 1.25 inches and has an overall length of 11 inches. This fractional-inch tool is intended for machinists and maintenance technicians who need to enlarge and finish existing holes to precise diameters in a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
As a non-powered cutting accessory, the reamer generates no electrical noise, draws no power and produces no self-generated heat during operation. Cutting temperatures depend entirely on the host machine speed, feed rate, workpiece material and the coolant or lubricant applied by the operator. Proper cutting-fluid selection keeps the tool and workpiece within safe thermal limits.
The reamer is supplied as a single cutting tool with no additional accessories, coatings or software included. The bright uncoated surface is ready for immediate use or for the application of a user-preferred coating. No digital assets, drivers or calibration certificates accompany the product.

Insert the straight shank into a matching collet or chuck, tighten securely, and verify the reamer runs true before cutting. The step often missed is checking concentricity with a dial indicator after clamping.
The bright uncoated flutes will dull with use. Resharpen the cutting edges on a tool-and-cutter grinder when hole finish degrades, or replace the reamer once the 1.25 in diameter falls below tolerance.
Heat buildup in the high-speed steel body reduces hardness and causes rapid flank wear, so cutting speed must be lowered or coolant applied to prevent premature dulling of the 1.25 in cutting diameter.
