Cleveland C55418 Spiral Point Tap

The Cleveland C55418 is a spiral point tap designed for creating internal threads in through-hole applications. It suits machinists and maintenance technicians who require reliable thread cutting in metalworking tasks.

Verify thread size and drill specification

Confirm the required thread size is M6x1 with a 6H class of fit before ordering. The specified 75 percent thread drill size is 5.00 mm and the thread limit is D5 for correct hole preparation.

High-speed steel construction with TiCN coating

The tap is manufactured from high-speed steel with a TiCN coating to resist wear during normal use. Two flutes and a spiral point design promote efficient chip evacuation ahead of the cutting action.
