Carbide square end mill with three flutes for aluminium, 0.25 in diameter and 0.375 in cut length
The Cleveland C60620 is a 3-flute carbide square end mill built for high-performance milling in aluminium. Its .25 in cutting diameter and uncoated carbide substrate suit CNC operators and machinists who need clean chip evacuation in non-ferrous materials. The straight shank matches standard .25 in tool holders for direct clamping.
The straight .25 in shank seats directly in ER collets, Weldon flats or shrink-fit holders without adapters. A .375 in length of cut handles shallow pockets and profiling passes while the 3-flute geometry opens wide gullets that eject aluminium chips before they re-weld. Overall length of 2 in keeps the tool compact inside tight machine envelopes.
Uncoated carbide avoids the built-up edge that coated tools can develop in sticky aluminium alloys. Three flutes balance material removal rate with lower cutting forces, reducing spindle load and vibration during slotting. The solid carbide body dissipates heat into the chips rather than the workpiece, extending edge life in dry or mist-lubricated cuts.

The length of cut is 0.375 in, so the tool can engage material up to that depth in one pass before the shank contacts the workpiece.
The uncoated carbide substrate conducts heat away from the cutting edges, and the three-flute geometry provides large chip gullets that carry heat out with the swarf during sustained cuts.
The straight shank diameter is 1/4 in, so a 1/4 in collet, end-mill holder or shrink-fit chuck is required for proper clamping.
