The Cleveland C64043 is a pipe and conduit thread tap designed for cutting internal NPT threads in pipe fittings and conduit. It suits plumbers, pipefitters and maintenance technicians who need to create or repair tapered pipe threads on site or in the workshop.

High-speed steel build

Made from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, the tap has an overall length of 3 3/4 inches and a thread length of 1 3/4 inches. The five-flute semi-bottoming design allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes while the right-hand cut matches standard NPT orientation.

NPT taper limits use to tapered pipe threads only

The 1 inch - 11.5 NPT specification means the tool cuts tapered threads that seal through thread interference, not parallel threads. A 75 percent thread drill size of 1.1406 inches is required before tapping. It cannot produce straight mechanical threads or metric pipe threads.
