Cuts 1/4"-18 NPSF threads in pipe and conduit using four-flute high-speed steel
The Cleveland C64131 is a high-speed steel pipe tap designed for cutting internal threads in pipe and conduit fittings. It suits maintenance technicians and fabricators who need to produce NPSF dryseal threads in metal components.
The tap features a semi-bottoming chamfer with four flutes for efficient chip evacuation during hand or machine tapping. Using the specified 0.4375 inch drill size for the 75 percent thread depth helps prevent tap breakage and ensures proper thread engagement.
This tool cuts a 1/4 inch minus 18 threads per inch NPSF straight pipe thread form with a 1 1/16 inch thread length. The right-hand, uncoated high-speed steel construction is intended for general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a dryseal pressure-tight joint is required.
Measured against everything we stock in Bits, Hole Saws & Accessory Kits, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Check thread engagement with a matching NPSF gauge; the 4-flute high-speed steel tap produces a 75 percent thread at the 0.4375 in drill size for proper fit.
The box contains the semi-bottoming pipe tap only; you must provide a 0.4375 in drill bit, cutting fluid, and a tap wrench or powered driver.
Select this 1/4"-18 NPSF tap for through or blind holes needing strong chip evacuation and full thread depth in steel or iron pipe fittings.
