Cobalt jobber drill with 135° parabolic flute cuts hardened steels and stainless, list 2075 .2040
The Cleveland Golf Jobber Drill #6 is a high-performance cutting tool made from cobalt steel with a straw-bronze finish. It features a 135-degree notch point and parabolic flute design for efficient chip evacuation. This right-hand cutting drill is built for drilling chilled cast iron, high-speed steel, high-strength alloy steel, stainless steel, and tool steels.
The drill has an overall length of 3-3/4 inches and a flute length of 2-1/2 inches with a shank diameter of .2040 inches. Its non-coolant-through design means it relies on external lubrication or air cooling during operation. The parabolic flute geometry helps pull chips away from the cutting zone in deep-hole applications.
Under sustained load the cobalt steel construction maintains hardness at elevated temperatures better than standard high-speed steel. The 135-degree point angle reduces thrust force and helps prevent work hardening in tough alloys. It is not suited for materials outside the listed steel and iron categories or for coolant-through machining setups.

The 135-degree notch point is designed to self-centre in stainless steel and high-strength alloys, reducing walk at the start of the hole.
Cobalt steel retains hardness at higher temperatures than standard high-speed steel, so it resists overheating during prolonged cuts in tough materials.
Your chuck needs to grip a 0.2040-inch round shank, which is the same diameter as the #6 wire-gauge drill body.
