Set Screw Collar C-500

The Climax Metal Products C-500 is a set screw collar designed for securing components on shafts in power transmission assemblies. It is supplied new and intended for maintenance, repair or original equipment builds that require a simple locking method.

Replaces worn or missing collars

This collar replaces damaged, corroded or lost units on existing shafts. The upgrade is worth it when the current hardware no longer holds position under load or when a transparent finish is preferred for visual inspection of the shaft surface.

Suits mechanics and OEM assemblers

It suits technicians who need a standard set screw locking style and can verify shaft diameter independently. Buyers who require a clamping collar, a different bore size or a specific material certification should look at other options.

Questions about this item

What shaft diameter does the C-500 set screw collar fit?

The C-500 model number corresponds to a half-inch bore size for standard shaft mounting.

How do I install the set screw collar without damaging the shaft?

Tighten the set screw against a flat spot on the shaft rather than the round surface to prevent marring and ensure holding power.

When should the C-500 collar be replaced during maintenance?

Replace the collar if the set screw threads strip, the bore wears oversize, or the collar shows cracks from over-tightening.
