16-inch Locking Shelf Bracket

This white epoxy-coated steel bracket is designed exclusively for the ClosetMaid ShelfTrack hang-track system. It accepts any ClosetMaid 16-inch deep wire shelf and locks onto the standards with a secure double-notch mechanism. The bracket measures 2.75 inches high, 0.5 inches wide and 16.75 inches deep. It is sold individually for DIY adjustable shelving projects.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The double-notch design distributes weight across two engagement points on the vertical standards, reducing movement when shelves carry heavy items over time. Steel construction resists bending under continuous load, while the epoxy finish protects against corrosion in humid environments such as garages or laundry rooms. Brackets remain firmly seated without shifting once installed.

ShelfTrack System Limits

This bracket only functions with ClosetMaid ShelfTrack hang tracks and standards; it will not mount to other wall-track systems or directly to studs without the proprietary rails. Shelf depth is fixed at 16 inches, so deeper or shallower wire shelves cannot be used. Adjustability depends entirely on the vertical spacing of the installed standards.

Questions about this item

Does the white epoxy finish on the 16-inch bracket resist heat or discoloration when the closet runs warm all day?

The bracket uses a white epoxy coating over steel, which resists normal indoor temperature changes and does not yellow under typical closet conditions.

What existing ClosetMaid parts must I already own for the 2854 bracket to install and hold a shelf?

You need ClosetMaid ShelfTrack hang track, standards and 16-inch deep wire shelving; the bracket slots onto the standards and locks to the shelf.

Will the double-notch lock on this 16.75-inch deep bracket engage securely with older ClosetMaid wire shelves I already have?

Yes, the universal design fits all ClosetMaid 16-inch deep wire shelving, and the double-notch design locks the shelf and bracket together.
