CLX Horus Ryzen 9 9950X Gaming Desktop

This CLX Horus mid-tower desktop is built around an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor with 16 cores and 32 threads, reaching 5.70GHz turbo. It includes 96GB of DDR5 memory in two 48GB modules, a GeForce RTX 5080 with 16GB GDDR7, a 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD plus an 8TB HDD, and an 850W power supply. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed and the CPU is liquid cooled.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

The system suits gamers and creators who need high core counts, large memory capacity and a current-generation GPU in a single chassis. Buyers who want more storage bays, a higher-wattage power supply for multi-GPU setups, or a smaller form factor for limited desk space should consider other configurations.

The spec that decides fit: 96GB DDR5 and RTX 5080

The combination of 96GB DDR5 and the GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 determines whether this PC matches the workload. Memory can be expanded to 256GB across four slots, while the GPU provides 16GB of dedicated video memory. If the application requires more VRAM or a different GPU tier, this model will not fit.

Questions about this item

What size radiator does the liquid cooler use and will it fit in a mid-tower case?

The CPU is cooled by a 360 mm liquid cooler designed for the mid-tower chassis.

How do I install extra DDR5 modules and which slots should I populate first?

The board has four DDR5 slots; two 48 GB modules are pre-installed, so add new kits to the empty slots in matched pairs.

When should I expect to replace the 850 W power supply in this build?

A quality 850 W unit typically lasts several years; plan a swap if you upgrade to a significantly higher-wattage GPU.
