Aviation history fans and block modellers

The Cobi 5763 Lockheed P-38H Lightning is a 1:32 scale educational model built from 650 plastic elements. It measures 35.5 cm long with a 49 cm wingspan and 8.5 cm height. Manufactured in the EU by a company with over 35 years of tradition, it suits hobbyists who enjoy detailed historical aircraft replicas.

Collectors wanting higher piece counts

This version returns with more elements and a new colour scheme compared to earlier releases. The jump is worth it for builders seeking a more complex assembly and updated finish on the iconic twin-fuselage fighter. Buyers needing smaller, quicker builds or different aircraft types should look elsewhere.

First-time builders and compatibility seekers

Clear, illustration-based instructions guide assembly step by step. Elements are fully compatible with other brands of construction blocks, reducing fit issues. The only common hurdle is managing the 650-piece count during the longer build session.

Questions about this item

What are the assembled dimensions of the 1:32 scale Lockheed P-38H Lightning model?

The finished model measures 35.5 cm (14") in length, 49 cm (19.29") in wingspan, and 8.5 cm (3.35") in height.

Which part of the build sequence do builders most often misalign on this double-fuselage aircraft?

The twin-boom centre section must be joined precisely before the wing spars lock; forcing the wings first twists the alignment and leaves visible gaps.

How many plastic elements are in the set, and are spare parts available if any break?

The box contains 650 high-quality plastic elements; COBI supplies replacement bricks through their customer service if a piece is lost or damaged.
