1:28 scale Karl-Gerät 040 "ZIU

The Cobi COBI-2560 is a 1:28 scale construction-block model of the heaviest self-propelled mortar of the Second World War. It recreates the 60 cm gun on a detailed chassis with working tracks, a movable barrel and a loading mechanism. The set is rated for builders aged eight and above.

History enthusiasts and block builders seeking

This set suits collectors who value historical accuracy and mechanical functions such as rotating wheels and a traversing gun. It is not aimed at builders who want motorised remote control or a larger scale that would show interior crew compartments.

2560-piece count with four figures and a name brick

The box contains 2560 bricks plus four minifigures — an officer, a service soldier, a mechanic and a gendarme — each with new high-boot legs. A printed brick bearing the name "ZIU" and a separate name plate complete the display model.

Questions about this item

How do I assemble the COBI-2560 Karl-Gerät 040 blocks and which step is most often missed?

Follow the printed manual to build the 1:28 scale model; the step most often missed is attaching the printed "ZIU" name brick to the finished mortar.

What parts of the Karl-Gerät 040 model may need replacement after repeated play?

The working tracks, rotating wheels, movable gun barrel and loading system contain the moving elements that wear fastest; keep spare COBI blocks handy for those sections.

What is the first limitation I will hit when displaying or moving the 1:28 Karl-Gerät 040 for long periods?

The model's size and the four included figures plus dog make it bulky; the first limit is shelf space and the stability of the tracks on smooth surfaces.
