Cobra Carbide 55989 3xD Drill Bit

The Cobra Carbide 55989 is a 3xD high-performance non-coolant drill bit sized at 13.30 mm. It is designed for power and pneumatic tool users who need a solid carbide cutting tool for general drilling tasks without internal coolant delivery.

Non-coolant drilling depth constraint

The 3xD designation means the effective drilling depth is limited to three times the 13.30 mm diameter. Without through-tool coolant, chip evacuation relies on external flood coolant or frequent peck cycles, which reduces practical feed rates in deeper holes.

13.30 mm metric diameter fit

The single specification that decides suitability is the 13.30 mm cutting diameter; the hole you produce will match this size exactly. Buyers who need a different metric diameter or a coolant-through design for deeper uninterrupted drilling should select another tool.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 13.30 mm size or a different diameter for my job?

Choose the 13.30 mm bit when you need a hole of that exact diameter; other sizes in the range are meant for different hole diameters.

What does the 3xD rating mean once the bit is in the machine?

The 3xD rating means the flute length allows drilling up to three times the 13.30 mm diameter in a single pass before chip removal is needed.

How does the non-coolant design affect the drilling standard I can achieve?

Without internal coolant channels the bit relies on external flood or mist coolant, which can limit maximum speed and depth in tougher materials.
