X-Pro Reverse Graduated ND4 Filter
The Cokin Nuances Extreme Reverse Graduated ND4 is a 2-stop neutral density filter designed for X-Pro series holders. It targets landscape photographers who need to balance bright horizons during sunrise or sunset. The reverse density profile places maximum darkening at the centre and fades toward the top edge. This layout matches scenes where the sun sits just above the horizon line.
Tempered Schott Glass Handles Extended Use
Hardened tempered Schott glass is rated four times stronger than the previous series, so the filter resists chips and scratches during repeated field trips. A new coating process delivers uniform density and colour neutrality across the whole range, letting you swap densities without white-balance shifts. The 2 mm thickness and rounded corners keep the filter sliding smoothly in the holder during long sessions.
Slots Into X-Pro Holders With Optional Seal
Rounded corners and standard 2 mm thickness make insertion straightforward in any compatible X-Pro holder. For a light-tight seal Cokin advises using the back slot of EVO series holders. Photographers using non-EVO holders or wider-angle lenses may encounter vignetting or light leaks that this filter alone cannot correct.

Questions about this item
Does the hardened tempered Schott glass run cooler or draw less power during all-day shoots?
This is a passive glass filter with no electronics, so it generates no heat and consumes no power regardless of how long you use it.
What holder system must I already own for the 2 mm X-Pro filter to fit?
You need a Cokin X-Pro series filter holder; the 2 mm thick glass with rounded corners slides into its standard slots.
Will the reverse graduated ND4 work with my older Cokin P-series holder?
No, the X-Pro filter is 2 mm thick and sized for X-Pro holders only; it will not fit the thinner P-series slots.
