Compostic 1.6 Gallon Compostable Bags

These 1.6 gallon bags are designed for countertop compost pails, desktop bins and small bedroom wastebaskets. The pack contains 100 certified home compostable bags made from plant-based biopolymers. They suit households that want a plastic-free liner for tight spaces.

Upgrade from conventional plastic liners

Standard plastic bags leave microplastics and never break down in home compost. These bags replace that waste stream with material that decomposes in 12 to 24 weeks, certified by DIN CERTCO. The switch is worth it when you compost food scraps at home and want the bag to vanish with the contents. Not for buyers who need large bin liners or bags that survive landfill conditions indefinitely.

Simple fit for mini bins

Each bag slips into a 1.6 gallon container with no excess bunching or slipping. The thicker engineering resists tears from light waste and moisture during daily use. What usually goes wrong is overfilling beyond the bag capacity or placing sharp objects that puncture the biopolymer film. The compostable box uses soy-based inks and adds no extra waste.

Questions about this item

Will these 1.6 gallon bags fit my countertop compost pail?

Yes, they are sized specifically for 1.6 gallon mini bins, countertop compost pails, desktop trash cans, and small bedroom wastebaskets with a snug fit that prevents slipping or excess bunching.

How do I install a bag so it does not tear when I lift it out?

Open the bag fully, seat it evenly inside the bin so the walls are supported, fill with light waste or food scraps, then lift by gathering the top edges together rather than pulling from one side to avoid stress on the seams.

How long before a used bag breaks down in my home compost pile?

DIN CERTCO certification confirms complete breakdown in 12 to 24 weeks under home compost conditions, leaving no microplastics or toxic residue and turning into nutrient-rich compost for garden use.
