Product identity

The COUGAR Ultimus EX White is a mechanical gaming keyboard built around a metal frame for structural rigidity. It connects via USB and features full backlighting without an integrated palm rest, targeting players who prefer a compact, no-frills layout.

Switch feel and keycaps

Doubleshot moulded keycaps and mechanical switches provide consistent actuation and resistance to legend wear. The combination is chosen for rapid input response and long-term durability during extended sessions.

Build integration

A single USB cable supplies both power and data, leaving no extra headers or software dongles to manage. The white finish and metal chassis suit clean, light-themed builds while the absence of a palm rest keeps the desk footprint minimal.

Questions about this item

What does the mechanical switch design mean for actual keystroke feel and response?

Mechanical switches give each key its own spring-loaded mechanism, so every press registers with a distinct tactile or linear action and no membrane mush, delivering faster repeat rates and consistent actuation across millions of cycles.

The keyboard connects by USB — what does that cap in practice?

USB provides all power and data through a single cable, so there is no separate power brick, no battery to charge, and the connection works on any PC or console with a standard USB port without extra drivers.

What does the metal frame require for placement on a desk?

The rigid metal frame adds weight and stiffness, so the board stays put on any flat surface without flex; it needs only the rectangular footprint of a full-size layout and a free USB port within cable reach.
