USB wired headset for calls and meetings

The Creative Chat USB headset connects through a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port and uses 40mm drivers with a 20Hz-20KHz frequency response. A noise-cancelling boom microphone filters ambient noise and swivels up to mute or down to unmute. It weighs 0.45 lb and includes a 6.90 ft cable for desk setups.

USB audio limits and platform support

The analogue-to-digital conversion happens inside the headset, so quality is bounded by the USB audio class implementation and the 100Hz-10KHz microphone response at -42 dBV/Pa. Windows 10 32/64-bit or higher, macOS 10.14 or higher, PS4 firmware 6.0 or later, Switch OS 5.0 or later in docked mode, Android 8.0 or later and iPadOS 13 or later on USB-C devices are supported.

Upgrade from basic headsets or built-in audio

Replaces low-cost stereo headsets that lack a dedicated noise-cancelling mic and hardware mute control. The jump is worth it when you need consistent voice pickup in noisy rooms and want mic monitoring to avoid shouting. It is not for buyers who want wireless freedom, surround sound, high-resolution music playback or a detachable microphone.

Questions about this item

How do I pick between the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports listed for this headset?

The headset works with either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports; choose whichever port is free on your PC, Mac, PS4, Switch, Android or iPadOS device.

What does the 40 mm driver mean for everyday calls?

The 40 mm drivers deliver a 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response so voices sound natural across the full speech range.

Does the USB connector limit mic quality on Windows 10?

The USB link carries the mic’s 100 Hz–10 kHz response and –42 dBV/Pa sensitivity without extra analogue noise, and SmartComms Kit adds software noise removal on Windows 10.
