Room scheduling touch screen

The Crestron TSS-7-B-S-LB is a 7 inch projected capacitive touch screen designed for enterprise room scheduling. It integrates directly with scheduling services and mounts to standard US, UK or Euro electrical boxes. The 5 point multitouch display suits shared workspaces and meeting rooms.

Passive cooling and PoE power

The unit draws power through a single wire PoE or PoE+ network connection so no separate power supply is required. With no moving parts the monitor runs silently and generates minimal heat in normal operation. Auto brightness control adjusts the 350 nits backlight to ambient conditions.

Secure mounting and expandable USB

A black smooth finish covers the 178 mm widescreen panel with 1024 x 600 resolution and 17:10 aspect ratio. The 5.0 MP camera offers a 50 degree horizontal field of view. A USB 2.0 Type A hotspot supports optional light bars or hallway signs for daily status indication.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the TSS-7-B-S-LB in a standard electrical box and what step is often missed?

The unit fits US, UK and Euro boxes; the step often missed is ensuring the single PoE or PoE+ cable is terminated and tested before the touch screen is secured to the wall.

Which components of the 7 inch touch screen may need replacement after extended use?

The projected capacitive touch layer, edgelit LED backlight and 5.0 MP camera are the parts most likely to require service after long-term operation.

What is the first limitation that appears when the display runs continuously at full brightness?

Sustained 350 nits output from the edgelit LED backlight will reach its thermal limit before the 1100:1 contrast or 24 bit colour performance degrades.
