Safety-tipped utility knives

The Cricut CUT-40468 pack contains two fuchsia utility knives designed for die cutting and general crafts. Each knife uses a self-retracting safety-tipped blade that withdraws automatically when the handle is released. The set includes three replacement blades stored in a built-in compartment. An adjustable dial sets different blade cutting lengths and retractable edge guides help trim box tops.

Hand-powered cutting with no power source

These knives are entirely hand powered and require no batteries or external power supply. The plastic handles measure 6.3 inches long and weigh 0.13 pounds each. Their L-shaped form and auto-retractable mechanism fit directly into a crafter’s toolkit without needing a charging station or cable management. The pack of two frees up a spare blade for a second workstation or a shared project.

Consistent retraction under repeated use

The spring-loaded retraction engages on every release, so the blade does not stay exposed during sustained cutting sessions. The adjustable dial holds its setting across multiple passes through card stock and similar materials. Replacement blades slide out from the storage compartment without tools, keeping the edge sharp for longer production runs.

Questions about this item

How long does the auto-retractable safety blade last under continuous cutting of card stock before the plastic handle shows wear?

The plastic handle measures 6.2 L x 2.5 W x 0.9 H inches and weighs 0.059 kilograms; sustained use will eventually wear the plastic but no specific duty-cycle figure is published.

Does the utility knife generate noticeable heat or noise when used all day for craft projects?

The knife is hand-powered with no motor or battery, so it produces no heat and only the quiet sound of the blade retracting and extending.

What additional items are required to start using the two Fuchsia utility knives straight from the pack?

Each knife includes three replacement blades stored in its compartment, so no extra blades or tools are needed to begin cutting.
