Two-channel Class D amplifier

The Crown XLS 1002 is a stereo power amplifier built on a lightweight DriveCore Class D platform. It delivers 350W per channel at 4 ohms and fits live sound rigs that need efficient power in a compact 13.6 kg chassis. The unit includes built-in DSP with a band pass filter per channel and a PureBand Crossover System for signal management.

Suits small to medium PA systems.

This amplifier suits installers and touring crews running compact front-of-house or monitor systems where weight and rack space are limited. Buyers who need more output per channel or additional channels for larger arrays should look at higher-power or multi-channel models.

350W at 4 ohms per channel with Peakx limiters

Each channel comfortably drives typical two-way loudspeakers at full output while Peakx limiters protect the transducers. At 8 ohms the available power drops, so systems wired for higher impedance will run out of headroom sooner. The selectable input sensitivity of 1.4 Vrms or 0.775 Vrms matches professional and consumer line levels.

Questions about this item

What speaker impedance do I need to get the full 350W per channel from the Crown XLS 1002?

The amplifier delivers its rated 350W per channel into a 4 ohm load, so speakers rated at 4 ohms will realise the full output.

Can I keep my existing mixer with unbalanced RCA outputs and still drive the XLS 1002 cleanly?

Yes, the rear panel provides RCA inputs alongside XLR and 1/4" jacks, and the selectable input sensitivity of 0.775 Vrms matches typical consumer line levels.

How can I confirm the Peakx Limiters are protecting my speakers during a show?

When the limiters engage the front-panel clip LEDs illuminate, giving immediate visual confirmation that the protection circuit is active.
